Two Years After Katrina and Thousands are Still Without Homes

Submitted by tnjp on September 5, 2007 - 12:44pm.

Petition: http://WhenTheSaints.org It's been two years since Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast region, and still there are tens of thousands of families without homes. 30,000 families are scattered across the country in FEMA apartments, 13,000 are in trailers, and hardly any of
the 77,000 rental units destroyed in New Orleans have been rebuilt. Support
the Gulf Coast Recovery Bill of 2007 by signing the petition at

Thanks for posting this. I am afraid a good share of the country has forgotten the Gulf Coast and New Orleans or at least think everything is okay. It's not! Tony (the guy with the ponytail) is from Plenty International and doing some great work. United Peace Relief which I am a member of will be working in the 7th Ward (Mama D neighborhood)the last week of October and in Pass Christian, Mississippi the third week of October. We will be joining Plenty International and Tony the last week of November. Tony has a list of homes that need work. Check us out at www.unitedpeacerelief.org. I will post here when details for housing etc. are done for those three weeks. Hopefully, we can get a group from Tallahassee that want to do over and help. Stay tuned!
